Eternal Youth?

How would YOU like to feel young no matter how old you are?  Possible?  Absolutely!  YOU can take charge of your health and reclaim your vitality by doing some simple, mostly common sense things in your life.  We're living longer than our grandparents or parents did and the better care you take of yourself, the longer you're likely to live.  Most of us agree that the quantity of life isn't nearly as important as the quality of life - we want to be happy, optimistic, and energetic as we grow older, remaining physically strong and mentally sharp.  We also want to maintain our independence. Experts believe that only about 25 to 30% of physical aging can be attributed to your genes.  The rest is entirely up to you!

One of the first things we need to do is get enough restful sleep.  During sleep, your body circulates about 70% of your daily dose of human growth hormone, the natural anti-aging elixir responsible for regenerating skin and rebuilding bones, muscles, and other tissues.  Long-term sleep deprivation can have devastating consequences on your health and can hasten the negative effects of aging.

Secondly, you need to boost your brain power.  Have you ever walked into a room only to find that you've forgotten what you came for?  Challenge your mind by playing games, working puzzles and such.  Move your body - exercise brings oxygen to the brain.  Manage stress - chronic stress is known to damage nerve cells by subjecting them to high levels of stress hormones.  Stay socially connected - people who do are mentally, emotionally, and physically healthier than those who are socially isolated.

Energize your life.  Don't just fill your body - fuel it!  Cut down on caffeine and sugar.  Eating a nutritious, well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and high-quality protein from fish, poultry, nuts, and legumes is a great place to start.

Take your supplements.  A quality multi-vitamin and mineral complex, powerful antioxidant, and an essential fatty acid such as Omega or Flax Seed Oil are the basics.  We don't get all the nutrients we need from our foods in today's over-processed foods on the market.

Drink your water.  Lots of it!  You should drink at least one-half your body weight in ounces of water every day.  So, if you weigh 100 pounds, you need to drink 50 ounces of water!  Do you?  Most people don't.

To YOUR good health!
