Young at ANY age!

Take charge of your health and reclaim your vitality!

In this post we'll look at what the good news IS about aging, the rejuvenating effects of restful sleep, boosting your brain power and energizing your life.  Today we'll focus on the first item: the good news about aging, and after today we'll move on to restful sleep and the other items listed above.

Regardless of your current age, chances are excellent that you'll live a long life - much longer than your grandparents or your parents. Staying young starts on the inside - age-related internal changes usually begin long before the outward signs of aging become apparent.  So, what causes us to age?  Aging begins at the cellular level in structures called mitochondria.  These tiny organelles act as miniature power plants for the cells in our bodies, converting the nutrients in the foods we eat into energy that's used by the body to fuel its many functions.  As they convert dietary nutrients to energy, older mitochondria begin emitting free radicals in much the same way an old car might begin to emit black smoke.

The FURY of free radicals...

Free radicals are highly unstable molecules, bursting with excess energy.  In the body, they gain stability by transferring their energy to nearby cells, tissues and organs, injuring them in the process.  When free radicals damage the DNA in our cells, the cells are no longer able to repair themselves or divide properly.  Over time, these changes can ultimately lead to abnormal cell growth and even cancer.

You see, free radicals are responsible for dozens of diseases, but they also cause many of the so-called "normal" changes associated with aging.  When healthy cells are damaged by free radicals, they cease to function normally.  Depending on their location in the body, these damaged cells may cause wrinkles in the skin, cataracts in the eyes, or Alzheimer's disease in the brain.

In the arteries, free radicals promote the formation of cholesterol plaques that can lead to heart attacks and strokes.  In the joints, they initiate the degenerative changes of osteoarthritis.

Free radical assaults ultimately lead to the breakdown of ALL body systems, and the cumulative result is the aging process.

Ok, I get that, but HOW do we GET these FREE RADICALS???

Free radical formation in our bodies is triggered by exposure to oxygen, ultraviolet (UV) light, cigarette smoke, smog, and other toxins in the environment and in our diets.  Scientists estimate that human DNA receives about 10,000 free-radical "hits" per DAY, with at least ten times this number bombarding the mitochondria of the cells.

Fortunately, we can guard ourselves against the damage caused by the continuous onslaught by increasing our consumption of protective antioxidants in the form of plant foods and dietary supplements.

Supplement Solution for Aging Mitochondria

Alpha Lipoic Acid, one of the most potent antioxidants known, commonly referred to as the universal antioxidant, is unique among antioxidants in that it functions in both fat-soluble and water-soluble tissues.  In one study, alpha lipoic acid given daily for one year to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias led to stabilization of memory and other measures of cognitive function.

Thai-Go (Antioxidant Juice Blend) is formulated with 11 highly nutritious fruit and herbal extracts.  It provides a continuous supply of powerful antioxidants known to neutralize the activity of free radicals and minimize their destructive potential.  Added benefit:  it tastes good!

RG-Max (Arginine Formula) supplies the body with arginine, the essential amino acid required for the production of nitric oxide in the body.  Nitric oxide is a gas produced naturally by the body, and it plays a critical role in maintaining the health of the entire cardiovascular system - not just the heart, but the miles of arteries, veins, and tiny capillaries that traverse the body.  Nitric oxide keeps these blood vessels strong, flexible, and properly dilated to ensure the continuous delivery of blood, oxygen, and nutrients required by every living cell.  This delicious powdered formula can positively impact blood lipid profiles.  It's packed with arginine and nine additional amino acids, supporting the heart muscle and lean skeletal muscle tissue, boosting both strength and stamina.
